On 9 March 2017, MPP Colle introduced Bill 103, Personal Injury and Accident Victims Protection Act, 2017. This bill has four key parts: to cap contingency fees paid to personal injury lawyers; to prohibit the use of referral fees; ensure all contracts and fees are outlined clearly with a 10-day cooling-off period during which the client may nullify their contract; to establish a rule that all advertising must be pre-approved by the Law Society of Upper Canada.
