16 Years of Waiting for Eglinton Crosstown LRT Finally Comes to a Happy Ending for MPP Mike Colle and Eglinton Community

"As TTC Chairman in the 1990s, we started the building of the Eglinton Subway. Finally, after a 16 year delay, the work has started again" said MPP Mike Colle, who saw the work on the Subway cancelled with the election of Mike Harris.

This new investment of $8.2 Billion will build the 20km Underground Line, running from Jane Street, to the Scarborough Town Centre. Located in the heart of the City, this Underground Line will be of great benefit to transit riders, motorists, and neighbourhoods from East to West.

M.P.P. Mike Colle also welcomes the 10 years of high paying jobs that this project will bring.

M.P.P. Mike Colle and local merchants with the Eglinton Fairbank and Eglinton York B.I.A., along with neighbourhood residents, will be celebrating this most welcome announcement today at 6pm, on the corners of Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West; and on Eglinton Avenue West and Oakwood Avenue.

Free "Sub-Dogs" will be shared with local residents to celebrate this long awaited good news.
